Student representatives

Becoming a Mode student rep is  an excellent opportunity to develop your life skills, meet new people and be pro active in making changes to your learning experience whilst at Mode.

Being a student rep is one of the most important and useful roles you can play during your time studying at Mode. It is a fantastic opportunity for you to get involved in your own and fellow student’s education.

You will receive training which gives you the knowledge and confidence to carry out the role effectively and efficiently.

Certificate of achievement
You will receive a certificate of achievement, gain many transferrable skills for your future. Make new friends and have fun along the way.

Most importantly it gives you a better student experience and the satisfaction of knowing you have helped improve your quality of education.

The role is voluntary so anyone can get involved and put as much or as little time in as they wish, all we ask is your commitment to:

  • Attend and participate in bi monthly cross team meetings
  • Recognise student issues and raise them at relevant meetings
  • Feedback information to your fellow students

This year we will be holding elections for 6 student representatives 2 each from the following programmes:

  • Alternative education
  • Study programmes
  • Apprenticeships

What makes a good student rep?

  • Good communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Team work/managing difficult situations tactfully
  • Listening skills
  • Problem solving skills

Don’t worry if feel you don’t have all these skills right now being a student rep is an opportunity to build these skills.
