This qualification is aimed at individuals wanting to enter a career in administration and those already working in administration who want to develop their skills. The qualification is suitable for the many job roles that require competence in business administration.
Students build portfolios evidencing their skills. They are assigned a personal assessor who visits them regularly in their workplace to carry out assessments, monitor their progress, set targets and offer support. Students may also be required to attend the training centre for training, workshops and assessments.
To achieve a full Level 2 Certificate in business and administration, a minimum of 21 credits must be achieved: 9 credits from the mandatory units, a minimum of 7 credits from the optional units Group B, and a maximum of 5 credits from optional units Group C.

A student’s personal assessor visits them in the workplace to complete a skillscan. This helps the student to decide the appropriate optional units to follow, and agree them with their assessor and employer.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. If the qualification is being completed as part of an apprenticeship then entry requirements will apply.
There is apprenticeship funding available for this qualification. Students’ eligibility for this funding will be checked upon application. Where there is no eligibility for funding the course cost is £700 including VAT.
On completing this course students can choose to progress on to the Level 3 NVQ Certificate/Diploma in business administration.
