Course content

This course is a study programme and is ideal for people wanting to train in music production or hairdressing who need some workplace skills first. It covers skills like timekeeping and standards of behaviour in the workplace. Through coaching and some work experience, you’ll develop the attitude, skills and personal strengths needed for learning and work.

Other topics covered include personal finance, effective communication, IT skills, and how to apply for a job. You can also get help with interview skills and development in maths and English. Teamwork, safety in the workplace, citizenship and a student project are also part of the course.

Costs and funding

The costs of training and assessment are usually paid for by government funding.
