Learners
This page outlines the training and support we offer young people aged 16 and over. There is also a section on admissions. For information on services for younger learners visit Schools.
Apprenticeships
Mode Training provides Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships for young people aged 16 and over who are employed in local hair salons. We can also find Apprenticeship positions for unemployed young people who want to start a career in hairdressing. For detailed information visit Apprenticeships.
Support
Our apprentices come from a variety of backgrounds with different needs and abilities. We offer each learner an individually-tailored programme of support. This might include:
- specialist help with literacy or numeracy
- placing apprentice with a small salon with close staff support
Throughout their training, each apprentice can access additional support from Mode Training as and when required.
Learner Representatives
Learner representatives for 2009/10 are:
Kelly Morris - Advance Apprenticeships
Kristiana Jacimovic - Apprenticeships
Learners can e-mail either Kelly or Kristiana at learner.rep@live.co.uk with suggestions on how we can improve training or with any concerns.
Admissions
Anyone interested in starting on an Apprenticeship with Mode Training can contact us to find out more. Eligible individuals are invited to an informal interview. From then, there are a number of steps in the Journey of a Learner.
