Cyber safety training for all staff and learners
Staff at mode training are currently undertaking training to allow them to show our young people how to use the internet and mobile technology safely. With the increase of the amount of IT equipment we now have at Mode we thought it important to ensure that both staff and learners are aware of the safe ways to use the equipment.
Stylists of the future ready to begin a career in hairdressing
The school year of 09/10 is now nearing its end and this means a busy time for Mode recruitment staff. We still have many candidates looking for employment in a suitable salon. Mode premises have a face-lift
Mode have undergone a lot of building work in the last few months. The Mode as we knew it has been transformed into a fresh new learning centre. With the addition of 2 new classrooms and a range of new IT equipment, both staff and learners alike are enjoying their new surroundings.
Our star apprentices are recognised at local awards ceremony
Some of our most talented apprentices and their employers received awards for their outstanding achievements at the Star Awards sponsored by Radio City 96.7. The event was held on Friday 5 February at the Echo Arena, BT Convention Centre in the city centre
£2500 Grant for Employers
The National Apprenticeship service is offering a grant of £2500 to employers who take on an unemployed apprentice aged 16 or 17. The scheme will be running until the end of March with only 5,000 grants available across the country.
Outstanding Collaborative Work at Mode Training

Mode Training improve to achieve fantastic grades at Ofsted inspection
Mode Training have continued to improve and have achieved their best inspection grades yet. A copy of the report can now be accessed on the Ofsted website.

We are now awaiting our completed Ofsted report after our recent inspection.
Mode team complete charity abseil
Despite their fears, a team from mode training completed a charity abseil to raise money for Hensahws Society for Blind People.
Mode apprentices participate in landmark project to develop skills for working with visually-impaired clients
Mode Training has forged links with Henshaws Society for Blind People to equip its apprentices with specialist skills to provide services for hairdressing clients with visual impairments.
Mode Training staff improve their workplace skills and knowledge
Mode Training staff have been working hard over the last 12 months to improve their skills and knowledge. Congratulations to all those who have taken part in training and gained professional qualifications.
Apprentice minimum wage increases to £95 from Aug 2009
Apprentice wages are due to change from £80 to £95 per week. These changes will take effect from 1 August 2009.
