Mode celebrate National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week will be celebrated from 6th – 10th March 2017

The overarching theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2017 is ‘Ladder of Opportunity!’- focusing on the progression routes of apprenticeships, from traineeships through to higher and Degree apprenticeships. This year is the 10th anniversary of National Apprenticeship Week and over the course of the Week Mode will be celebrating the achievements of apprentices from over the last decade.

Some interesting facts

  • After finishing, the majority of apprentices (90%) stay in employment (including 2% self-employed), with seven in ten (71%) staying with the same employer
  • Employers say that qualified apprentices are 15% more employable than those with other qualifications
  • Apprenticeships boost productivity to businesses by on average £214 per week
  • 89% of apprentices are satisfied with their apprenticeship; 85% of apprentices said their ability to do the job had improved, and 83% of apprentices said their career prospects had improved
  • Those completing a higher apprenticeship could see increased earnings of an estimated £150,000 over their lifetime

Mode celebrate #NAW2017

Throughout the week we will applauding the success of apprentices old and new through a social media campaign.

We start the week off celebrating a former apprentice of Mode who has now gone onto owning her own salon embracing traineeships and apprenticeships as key part of her business. Later in the week we will be filming clips of current apprentices asking them why an apprenticeship is important to them, and on Thursday we will be digging out all the old pictures for throwback Thursday #TBT
